How you publish the file depends on your store platform. There are two common paths, one for hosted store builders and one for self-hosted stores.

Pick the path for your store

Hosted store builders (Shopify, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace). These do not allow root-file uploads, so you serve the file through a redirect or a small proxy in front of your domain. Follow your platform's method; we have dedicated guides for each.
Self-hosted and open stores (WooCommerce on WordPress, custom, or headless). You control your web root, so upload llms.txt straight to the root next to robots.txt .
Either way, open yourstore.com/llms.txt in a browser and confirm it loads as plain text and returns a 200.
