How to host your llms.txt file on Shopify

Shopify does not let you upload files to your domain root, so stores serve llms.txt with the Files area plus a URL redirect. It takes about ten minutes.

The Files + redirect method

Generate and download your file, then go to Content > Files in your Shopify admin and upload llms.txt. Copy the file URL Shopify gives you.
Go to Online Store > Navigation > URL Redirects and create a redirect from /llms.txt to that file URL.
Visit yourstore.com/llms.txt in a browser and confirm it loads and returns a 200.

Prefer a true plain-text file with full control? Serve /llms.txt from a Cloudflare Worker placed in front of your Shopify domain. Avoid the theme Assets folder, since files there load at /assets/llms.txt, not your root.
